G, you are fortunate to have such great kids! You'd never know that A is somewhat of a tomboy. She looked lovely and at-ease in her "girl" clothes, and W, you look so handsome! If only I could get my boys into something other than t-shirts and track pants - without an epic fight. Maybe it's the "we're in this together" twin thing (yes, this brother-sister duo share the same birthday), or maybe its a testament to their devotion to mom and dad, but whatever it is, we found it to be a delight to photograph these kids. How glad we are that our mutual friends, P, introduced us. See you next year. - LN
Well, it only took me 7 months to blog about our new studio! We've just been so busy taking care of our clients, that things like our new studio space took a back seat. However, I am so excited to share our new digs with you -- the space is just lovely and I can't wait to see many of you there! Our new studio is located in downtown Highwood, directly above a nail salon (how perfect is that!?). We've got tons of shooting space, with a great brick wall to enjoy. By far my favorite feature is our bay window, and it has been so much fun experimenting with the lighting there. The window is fabulous for newborn work, but it really shines with maternity silhouettes.
We've always got fresh coffee and tea waiting for you, great books, and our free wifi. Come see us soon!
Being a photographer is hard work, but sometimes, it's even harder being a subject: a strange place, a strange camera, new people (note I didn't say "strange"). It can be a lot for a little one. Sweet little K wasn't sure what to make of the whole event. Can't you just look into those big soulful eyes and see her wonderment? -- LN
Okay, you don't need to tell me ... haven't posted in forever. We've been busy with loads of newborns this month, and client images always come before the blog! But now that we've got an awesome new designer on staff, our blog postings should resume back to normal! Fall was such a wonderful shooting season for us, as we had the opportunity to photograph old friends and make many new ones. We'll be posting highlights from the fall, along with our January sessions, regularly. So here goes the first! These two ADORABLE children were so much fun to work with ... and so was their Mom. I am so grateful to meet them -- welcome to the area, E family! You can't tell by looking at the images, but the day was wet and cold. Of course, a cold fifty degree day would feel like a heat wave today!
I will not play at tug o' warI'd rather play at hug o' war, Where everyone hugs Instead of tugs Where everyone giggles And rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses And everyone grins And everyone cuddles And everyone wins.

By far, my favorite part of my job is reconnecting with old friends. Photography is a personal profession, and I am proud to say I feel like so many clients become friends. I love to come back, to watch (and to document) the kids as they grow. So when this family called to book a session, I was thrilled. I just couldn't wait to see them again.
