G, you are fortunate to have such great kids! You'd never know that A is somewhat of a tomboy. She looked lovely and at-ease in her "girl" clothes, and W, you look so handsome! If only I could get my boys into something other than t-shirts and track pants - without an epic fight. Maybe it's the "we're in this together" twin thing (yes, this brother-sister duo share the same birthday), or maybe its a testament to their devotion to mom and dad, but whatever it is, we found it to be a delight to photograph these kids. How glad we are that our mutual friends, P, introduced us. See you next year. - LN
When I reflect on this family session, I am reminded of the fabulous Shel Silverstein poem Hug of War. I will not play at tug o' war. I'd rather play at hug o' war, Where everyone hugs Instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles And rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, And everyone grins, And everyone cuddles, And everyone wins.
What a wonderful day, and wonderful family.
I'm partial to these images, not because this little guy is sweet and adorable (which he is), but because this series features fleeting expressions. Some of them are quirky - my faves - and some are classic, but they all capture him, at this moment, and truly showcase his personality. Babies change SO fast. Don't let the memory fade. - LN
Well, it only took me 7 months to blog about our new studio! We've just been so busy taking care of our clients, that things like our new studio space took a back seat. However, I am so excited to share our new digs with you -- the space is just lovely and I can't wait to see many of you there! Our new studio is located in downtown Highwood, directly above a nail salon (how perfect is that!?). We've got tons of shooting space, with a great brick wall to enjoy. By far my favorite feature is our bay window, and it has been so much fun experimenting with the lighting there. The window is fabulous for newborn work, but it really shines with maternity silhouettes.
We've always got fresh coffee and tea waiting for you, great books, and our free wifi. Come see us soon!
Love me tender, Love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.
A little girl is sugar and spice and everything nice.
Okay, you don't need to tell me ... haven't posted in forever. We've been busy with loads of newborns this month, and client images always come before the blog! But now that we've got an awesome new designer on staff, our blog postings should resume back to normal! Fall was such a wonderful shooting season for us, as we had the opportunity to photograph old friends and make many new ones. We'll be posting highlights from the fall, along with our January sessions, regularly. So here goes the first! These two ADORABLE children were so much fun to work with ... and so was their Mom. I am so grateful to meet them -- welcome to the area, E family! You can't tell by looking at the images, but the day was wet and cold. Of course, a cold fifty degree day would feel like a heat wave today!
A quiet moment during a lively session. I wonder, what is it you ponder?
Your beautiful sweet innocence sits still for a moment while secret thoughts stir. Quietly you gaze, tenderly, towards your mother.
Falling behind on my blogging ... excited to show you another great time at the beach with a very fun, silly and adventurous Chicago area family. I hope you guys had a great time, too.
This is our year of the Floridian. We have been lucky enough to have several clients come visit for photographs --- straight from their cozy warmth to our cold and wet .... We've enjoyed all of you -- and been very envious of your tans!! Okay so you tell me ... sisters? or mother and daughter?VERY hard to tell! These two women are beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your jaunt to Chicago - it was a pleasure to meet you.
Well here we are right in the midst of holiday season - my favorite time of year for so many reasons. Though there are many reasons why I love this time of year, reconnecting with old friends and families is the top. I get to see so many of my clients that I've been photographing for years, and watch them grow. Here are some previews from a few of my favorite families! These are just some of the shots from our recent mini session event - more previews to come.
